T-Mobile and AMTRAK in the Northeast Corridor
Thursday, March 25th, 2010As a fairly regular rider on Amtrak’s ACELA between Boston and New York - I get to put my T-Mobile data plan through the paces. I use their silly little USB stick for connecting up to the web.
What’s particularly awesome is that even though the Northeast Corridor - is busiest, most heavily used section of railword track in the United States, T-Mobile can’t manage to get basic 3G coverage to the line. 3G connectivity is available only for about 40% of the ride and for stretch between New Haven, CT and Providence, RI - almost not at all.
T-Mobile needs to get with the picture. Verizon’s 3G commercials are sticking in my mind. I deserve better connections and when my contract expires, I’ll know where to go.
